Kyle Lobstein traded to Orioles

Kyle Lobstein was traded by the Pittsburgh Pirates to the Baltimore Orioles on August 31, 2016. The Pirates in exchange received Zach Phillips. 

LHP Lobstein had split 2016 between Triple A Indianapolis and the Pirates. He was 1-3, 4.11 ERA, 42 K, 1.43 WHIP, .284 BAA, 1 SV in 50.1 IP over 19 games with 6 GS at Indianapolis and 2-0, 3.96 ERA, 15 K, 1.48 WHIP, .263 BAA in 25.0 IP over 14 games with the Pirates. Over three MLB seasons with the Pirates and Tigers he is 6-10, 5.06 ERA, 74 K, 1.46 WHIP, .277 BAA in 128.0 IP over 34 games with 17 GS. He was originally drafted by the Rays in the second round in 2008. Lobstein turned 27 on August 12.

LHP Phillips was 9-3, 4.45 ERA, 84 K, 1.48 WHIP, .261 BAA, 1 SV in 60.2 IP over 49 games at Triple A Norfolk in 2016. Over three MLB seasons with the Marlins and Orioles he was 0-1, 3.45 ERA, 14 K, 1.53 WHIP, .254 BAA in 15.2 IP over 19 games. He was originally drafted by the Rangers in the 23rd round in 2004. Phillips will be 30 on September 21.
