Ivan Nova was traded by the New York Yankees to the Pittsburgh Pirates on August 1, 2016 for two PTBNL. THE RHP was 7-6, 4.90 ERA, 75 K, 1.36 WHIP, .276 BAA, 1 SV in 97.1 IP over 21 games with 15 GS with the Yankees in 2016. Over seven MLB seasons with the 53-39, 4.41 ERA, 543 K, 1.39 WHIP, .273 BAA, 1 SV in 729.0 IP over 131 games with 118 GS. He originally signed with the Yankees in 2004 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Nova turned 29 on January 12.
