Matt Moore traded to Giants

Matt Moore was traded by the Tampa Bay Rays to the San Francisco Giants on August 1, 2016. The Rays in exchange received Matt Duffy, Lucius Fox and Michael Santos. 

LHP Moore was 7-7, 4.08 ERA, 109 K, 1.27 WHIP, .251 BAA in 130.0 IP over 21 games with the Rays in 2016. Over six MLB seasons with the Rays he was 39-28, 3.88 ERA, 494 K, 1.34 WHIP, .243 BAA in 540.0 IP over 96 games. He was originally drafted by the Rays in the eighth round in 2007. Moore turned 27 on June 18.

Matt Duffy is a third baseman who had split 2016 between Triple A Sacramento and the Giants. He hit 2 for 6, .333/.429/.500 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 2 R, 0 SB in 2 games at Sacramento and .253/.313/.358 with 4 HR, 21 RBI, 32 R, 8 SB in 70 games with the Giants. Over three MLB seasons with the Giants he hit .281/.326/.399 with 16 HR, 106 RBI, 114 R, 20 SB in 253 games. He was originally drafted by the Giants in the 18th round in 2012. Duffy turned 25 on January 15.

Fox is a shortstop who hit .207/.305/.277 with 2 HR, 16 RBI, 46 R, 25 SB in 75 games at Class A Augusta in 2016. He originally signed with the Giants in 2015 as an amateur free agent out of the Bahamas. Fox turned 19 on July 2nd.

RHP Santos was 4-2, 2.91 ERA, 44 K, 1.13 WHIP, .264 BAA in 58.2 IP over 10 games at Augusta in 2016. He originally signed with the Giants in 2013 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Santos turned 21 on May 29.
