2013 AL All Star Pitchers

Here are the American League pitchers for the 2013 All Star game:

RHP Grant Balfour of the Oakland Athletics is in his first All Star game. Prior to the All Star break he was 0-1, 1.63 ERA, 41 K, 1.03 WHIP, 25 SV in 38.2 IP over 40 games. For his 10 season MLB career he is 27-15, 3.23 ERA, 483 K, 1.17 WHIP, 59 SV in 449.0 IP over 438 games. He originally signed with the Twins as an amateur free agent in 1997.

RHP Clay Buchholz of the Boston Red Sox is in his second All Star game. Prior to the All Star break he was 9-0, 1.71 ERA, 81 K, 1.02 WHIP in 84.1 IP over 12 games. For his seven season MLB career he is 55-32, 3.66 ERA, 552 K, 1.30 WHIP in 720.2 IP over 119 games. He was originally drafted by the Red Sox with the 42nd pick of the first round in 2005.

LHP Brett Cecil of the Toronto Blue Jays is in his first All Star game. Prior to the All Star break he was 3-0, 1.94 ERA, 55 K, 0.97 WHIP in 46.1 IP over 41 games. For his five season MLB career he is  31-26, 4.52 ERA, 379 K, 1.38 WHIP in 497.1 IP over 128 games. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays with the 38th pick of the first round in 2007.

RHP Bartolo Colon of the Oakland Athletics is in his third All Star game. Prior to the All Star break he was 12-3, 2.70 ERA, 70 K, 1.11 WHIP in 126.2 IP over 19 games. For his 16 season MLB career he is 183-125, 3.98 ERA, 1903 K, 1.31 WHIP in 2520.2 IP over 400 games. He originally signed with the Indians as an amateur free agent in 1993 out of the Dominican Republic.

RHP Jesse Crain of the Chicago White Sox is in his first All Star game. Prior to the All Star break he was 2-3, 0.74 ERA, 46 K, 1.14 WHIP in 36.2 IP over 38 games. For his 10 season MLB career he is 45-30, 3.05 ERA, 440 K, 1.23 WHIP, 4 SV in 532.0 IP over 532 games. He was originally drafted by the Twins in the second  round in 2002.

RHP Justin Verlander of the Detroit Tigers is in his sixth All Star game. Prior to the All Star break he was 10-6, 3.50 ERA, 125 K, 1.34 WHIP in 126.0 IP over 20 games.
