Jacob Ruppert was inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame class of 2013 along with Hank O' Day and Deacon White. Ruppert was a U.S. Congressman (1899-1907) and later the owner of the New York Yankees (1915-1939). Ruppert laid the foundation for the Yankees by hiring Miller Huggins as Manager in 1917, purchasing the contract of Babe Ruth from the Boston Red Sox in 1919 and building Yankee stadium which was completed in 1923. The Yankees won their first seven World Series Championships under Ruppert (1923, 1927, 1928, 1932, 1936, 1937 and 1938).
