Futures Game 2013 World Team Catchers

The rosters have been revealed for the 2013 Futures Game to be played on July 14 at Mets' Citi Field in New York, NY. Every Major League team has at least one player on either the US or World roster and some teams have more than one. In this post I'll be going over the catchers on the World team.

Jorge Alfaro is a right-handed catcher for Class A Hickory of the Texas Rangers. This season he has hit .263/.334/.458 with 11 HR, 39 RBI, 41 RBI, 9 SB in 72 games. He originally signed with the Rangers in 2010. Alfaro turned 20 on June 11. He was born in Sincelejo, Columbia.

Christian Bethancourt is a right-handed catcher for Double A Mississippi of the Atlanta Braves. This season he has hit .258/.290/.374 with 4 HR, 22 RBI, 20 R, 7 SB in 52 games. He originally signed with the Braves in 2008. Bethancourt will be 22 on September 2nd. He was born in Panama City, Panama.

A J Jimenez is a right-handed catcher who has split 2013 between Class A Advanced Dunedin and Double A New Hampshire of the Toronto Blue Jays. He hit .429/.448/.643 with 1 HR, 9 RBI, 5 R, 0 SB in 9 games and has hit .393/.411/.517 with 1 HR, 15 RBI, 18 R, 0 SB in 22 games at New Hampshire. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in 2008. Jimenez turned 23 on May 1st. He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
