Ricky Nolasco was traded by the Miami Marlins to the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 6, 2013 in addition to international signing bonus money. In exchange the Marlins received Steven Ames, Josh Wall and Angel Sanchez.
RHP Nolasco has eight seasons MLB experience pitching all with the Marlins. This season he was 5-8, 3.85 ERA, 90 K, 1.22 WHIP in 112.1 IP over 18 games with the Marlins. For his MLB career he is 81-72, 4.44 ERA, 1001 K, 1.29 WHIP in 1225.2 IP over 213 games. He was originally drafted by the Cubs in the fourth round in 2001. Nolasco will be 31 on December 13.
RHP Ames pitched at Triple A Albuquerque where he was 2-2, 3.67 ERA, 29 K, 1.69 WHIP, 8 SV in 34.1 IP over 30 games. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the 17th round in 2009. Ames turned 25 on March 15.
RHP Wall has split 2013 between Triple A Albuquerque and the Dodgers. He was 1-2, 5.60 ERA, 25 K, 1.57 WHIP, 3 SV in 27.1 IP over 25 games with Albuquerque and was 0-1, 18.00 ERA, 7 K, 3.29 WHIP in 7.0 IP over 6 games with the Dodgers. It is his second season with the Dodgers and his MLB totals are 1-1, 12.08 ERA, 11 K, 2.13 WHIP in 12.2 IP over 13 games. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the second round in 2005. Wall turned 26 on January 26.
RHP Sanchez has split 2013 between Class A Great Lakes and Class A Advanced Rancho Cucamonga. He was 2-7, 4.88 ERA, 70 K, 1.50 WHIP in 72.0 IP over 14 games at Great Lakes and was 0-0, 3.00 ERA, 12 K, 1.11 WHIP in 9.0 IP over 2 games at Rancho Cucamonga. He originally signed with the Dodgers as an amateur free agent in 2010 out of the Dominican Republic. Sanchez will be 24 on November 28.
