Futures Game 2013 World Team Outfield

The rosters have been revealed for the 2013 Futures Game to be played on July 14 at Mets' Citi Field in New York, NY. Every Major League team has at least one player on either the US or World roster and some teams have more than one. In this post I'll be going over the outfielders on the World team.

Yeison Asencio is a right-handed outfielder who has split 2013 between Class A Advanced Lake Elsinore and Double A San Antonio of the San Diego Padres. He hit .296/.319/.457 with 5 HR, 44 RBI, 34 R, 1 SB in 57 games at Lake Elsinore and has hit .294/.304/.376 with 1 HR, 12 RBI, 10 R, 1 SB in 27 games at San Antonio. He originally signed with the Padres in 2009. Asencio will be 24 on November 14. He was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Gregory Polanco is a left-handed outfielder who has split 2013 between Class A Advanced Bradenton and Double A Altoona of the Pittsburgh Pirates. He hit .312/.364/.472 with 6 HR, 30 RBI, 29 R, 24 SB in 57 games at Bradenton and has hit .319/.397/.464 with 2 HR, 15 RBI, 11 R, 4 SB in 18 games at Altoona. He originally signed with the Pirates in 2009. Polanco will be 22 on September 14. He was born in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Jorge Soler is a right-handed outfielder with Class A Advanced Daytona of the Chicago Cubs. This season he has hit .281/.343/.467 with 8 HR, 35 RBI, 38 R, 5 SB in 55 games. He originally signed with the Cubs in 2012. Soler turned 21 on February 25. He was born in Havana, Cuba.

Oscar Taveras is a left-handed outfielder for Triple A Memphis of the St Louis Cardinals. This season he has hit .306/.341/.462 with 5 HR, 32 RBI, 25 R, 5 SB in 46 games. He originally signed with the Cardinals in 2008. Taveras turned 21 on June 19. He was born in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic.

Henry Urrutia is a left-handed hitting outfielder who has split 2013 between Double A Bowie and Triple A Norfolk of the Baltimore Orioles. He hit .365/.433/.550 with 7 HR, 37 RBI, 33 R, 1 SB in 52 games at Bowie and has hit .286/.342/.371 with 0 HR, 2 RBI, 6 R, 0 SB in 9 games at Norfolk. He originally signed with the Orioles in 2012. Urrutia turned 26 on February 13.  He was born in Las Tunas, Cuba.
