The rosters have been revealed for the 2013 Futures Game to be played on July 14 at Mets' Citi Field in New York, NY. Every Major League team has at least one player on either the US or World roster and some teams have more than one. In this post I'll be going over the outfielders on the US team.
Byron Buxton is a right-hander outfielder who has split 2013 between Class A Cedar Rapids and Class A Advanced Fort Myers of the Minnesota Twins. He hit .341/.431/.559 with 8 HR, 55 RBI, 68 R, 32 SB in 68 games at Cedar Rapids and hit .375/.390/.500 with 1 HR, 7 RBI, 6 R, 1 SB in 9 games at For Myers. He was originally drafted by the Twins with the second pick of the first round in 2012. Buxton will be 20 on December 18. He was born in Baxley, GA.
Billy Hamilton is a switch hitting outfielder with Triple A Louisville of the Cincinnati Reds. This season he has hit .251/.305/.346 with 5 R, 28 RBI, 50 R, 49 SB in 77 games. He was originally drafted by the Reds in the second round in 2009. Hamilton will be 23 on September 9th. He was born in Collins, MS.
Brandon Nimmo is a left-handed hitting outfielder with Class A Savannah of the New York Mets. This season he has hit .265/.368/.356 with 1 HR, 23 RBI, 36 R, 4 SB in 58 games. He was originally drafted by the Mets with the 13th pick of the first round in 2011. Nimmo turned 20 on March 27. He was born in Cheyenne, WY.

George Springer is a right-handed outfielder who has split 2013 between Double A Corpus Christi and Triple A Oklahoma City of the Houston Astros. He hit .297/.399/.579 with 19 HR, 55 RBI, 56 R, 23 SB in 73 games at Corpus Christi and hit .378/.477/.730 with 4 HR, 10 RBI, 8 R, 4 SB in 11 games at Oklahoma City. He was originally drafted by the Astros with the 11th pick of the first round in 2011. Springer will be 24 on September 19. He was born in Hartford, CT.
Christian Yelich is a left-handed hitting outfielder who has split 2013 between Rookie Gulf Coast, Class A Advanced Jupiter and Double A Jacksonville. He hit .294/.333/.412 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 2 R, 0 SB in 5 games at Gulf Coast, hit .263/.364/.579 with 2 HR, 3 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB in 5 games at Jupiter and hit .262/.342/.518 with 6 HR, 28 RBI, 25 R, 4 SB in 41 games at Jacksonville. He was originally drafted by the Marlins with the 23rd pick of the first round in 2010. Yelich will be 22 on December 5th. He was born in Thousand Oaks, CA.
