Brandon League traded to Dodgers

Brandon League was traded by the Seattle Mariners to the Los Angeles Dodgers on July 30, 2012. In exchange the Mariners received Leon Landry and Logan Bawcom.


RHP League is in his ninth MLB season pitching with the Mariners and Blue Jays. In 2012 he was 0-5 with a 3.63 ERA, 27 K, 1.50 WHIP, 9 SV in 44.2 IP over 46 games with Seattle. For his MLB career he is 17-27 with a 3.69 ERA, 282 K, 1.29 WHIP, 54 SV in 387.1 IP over 349 games. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the second round in 2001. League turned 29 on March 16.


Landry is an outfielder who was playing with the Dodgers Class A Advanced team in Rancho Cucamonga. In 2012 he hit .328/.358/.559 with 8 HR, 51 RBI, 63 R, 20 SB in 80 games with Rancho Cucamonga. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the third round in 2010. Landry will be 23 on September 20.


RHP Bawcom has split 2012 between the Dodgers Class A Advanced team in Rancho Cucamonga and Double A team in Chattanooga. He was 1-1 with a 0.64 ERA, 24 K, 0.71 WHIP, 7 SV in 14.0 IP over 12 games in Rancho Cucamonga and was 3-3 with a 2.60 ERA, 36 K, 1.33 WHIP, 13 SV in 34.2 IP over 27 games in Chattanooga. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the 17th round in 2010. Bawcom will be 24 on November 2nd.
