Chris Iannetta traded to Angels

Chris Iannetta was traded by the Colorado Rockies to the Los Angeles Angels on November 30, 2011. In exchange the Rockies receive Tyler Chatwood.


Iannetta is a catcher who was with the Rockies for six seasons. In 2011 he hit .238/.370/.414 with 14 home runs, 55 RBI, 51 runs and 6 steals in 112 games. For his career he has hit .235/.357/.430 with 63 home runs, 236 RBI, 196 runs and 7 steals in 458 games. He was originally drafted by the Rockies in the fourth round in 2004.


RHP Chatwood is coming off his rookie season with the Angels. In 2011 he was 6-11 with a 5.13 ERA, 74 strikeouts and 1.67 WHIP in 142 innings over 27 games. He was originally drafted by the Angels in the second round in 2008.
