Angel Pagan traded to Giants

Angel Pagan was traded by the New York Mets to the San Francisco Giants on December 6, 2011. In exchange the Mets receive Andres Torres and Ramon Ramirez.

Pagan is an outfielder who played six seasons for the Mets and the Cubs. In 2011 he hit .262/.322/.372 with seven home runs, 56 RBI, 68 runs and 32 steals in 123 games. For his career he has hit .279/.331/.418 with 33 home runs, 209 RBI, 263 runs and 95 steals in 541 games. He was originally drafted by the Mets in the fourth round in 1999.

Torres is an outfielder who played seven seasons with the Giants, Rangers and Tigers. In 2011 he hit .221/.312/.330 with four home runs, 19 RBI, 50 runs and 19 steals in 112 games. For his career he has hit .244/.318/.403 with 27 home runs, 118 RBI, 197 runs and 60 steals in 415 games. He was originally drafted by the Tigers in the fourth round in 1998.

RHP Ramirez has played six seasons for the Giants, Red Sox. Royals and Rockies. In 2011 he was 3-3 with a 2.62 ERA, 66 strikeouts, 1.16 WHIP and 4 saves in 68.2 innings over 66 games. For his career he is 20-17 with a 3.16 ERA, 310 strikeouts, 1.24 WHIP and 8 saves in 364.1 innings over 359 games. He originally signed with the Rangers as an amateur free agent in 1996.
