Mark Lowe was traded by the Seattle Mariners to the Toronto Blue Jays on July 31, 2015. The Mariners in exchange received Rob Rasmussen, Jacob Brentz and Nick Wells.

LHP Rasmussen had split 2015 between Triple A Buffalo and the Blue Jays. He was 4-1, 2.36 ERA, 40 K, 1.10 WHIP, .171 BAA, 1 SV in 42.0 IP over 34 games at Buffalo and 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 K, 1.00 WHIP, .250 BAA in 1.0 IP in 1 game with the Blue Jays. Over two MLB seasons with the Blue Jays he was 0-0, 2.92 ERA, 14 K, 1.30 WHIP, .200 BAA in 12.1 IP over 11 games. He was originally drafted by the Marlins in the second round in 2010, traded to the Astros in July 2012, traded to the Dodgers in December 2012 and traded to the Phillies in September 2013 and traded to the Blue Jays in December 2013. Rasmussen turned 26 on April 2nd.
LHP Brentz pitched at Rookie Bluefield where he was 0-1, 4.09 ERA, 16 K, 1.64 WHIP, .294 BAA in 22.0 IP over 6 games. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the 11th round in 2013. Brentz will be 21 on September 14.
LHP Wells pitched at Rookie Bluefield where he was 1-2, 4.78 ERA, 31 K, 1.28 WHIP, .246 BAA in 32.0 IP over 7 games. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the third round in 2014. Wells turned 19 on February 21.
