Trevor Gretzky traded to Angels

Trevor Gretzky was traded by the Chicago Cubs to the Los Angeles Angels on March 20, 2014. In exchange the Cubs received Matt Scioscia.

Gretzky is an outfielder who split 2013 between Class A Boise and Class A Kane County as he hit .256/.281/.291 with 0 HR, 6 RBI, 11 R, 0 SB in 27 games at Boise and hit .306/.333/.408 with 1 HR, 2 RBI, 5 R, 0 SB in 14 games at Kane County. Gretzky is the son of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky. He was originally drafted by the Cubs in the seventh round in 2011. Gretzky will be 22 on September 14.

Scioscia is a first baseman who split 2013 between Rookie Arizona, Class A Burlington and Class A Advanced Inland Empire as he hit .213/.245/.255 with 0 HR, 5 RBI, 2 R, 0 SB in 12 games at Arizona, hit .182/.260/.182 with 0 HR, 4 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB in 18 games at Burlington and hit .190/.217/.286 with 0 HR, 2 RBI, 3 R, 0 SB in 10 games at Inland Empire. Scioscia is the son of Angels manager Mike Scioscia. He was originally drafted by the Angels in the 45th round in 2011. Scioscia  will be 26 on September 20.
