College Spotlight Special 030514
This is a special college spotlight because of an extraordinary feat yesterday. RHP Javi Salas pitched a perfect game in a 17-0 over Villanova in front of nearly 2500 fans at Alex Rodriguez Park in Coral Gables, FL. Salas is a senior out of Christopher Columbus High School in Coral Gables, FL. His line for the game was 9.0 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 6 K while facing 27 batters with 113 total pitches. It was just the 22nd perfect game in NCAA Division I baseball since 1957. This season he is now 1-1, 1.59 ERA, 16 K, 0.59 WHIP in 17.0 IP over 3 games. Last season as a junior he was 5-5, 3.18 ERA, 44 K, 1.23 WHIP in 70.2 IP over 17 games with 11 starts.
