Carl Pavano retires
Carl Pavano announced his retirement from playing baseball in February 2014. The RHP had 14 seasons MLB experience pitching with the Expos (1998-2002), Marlins (2002-2004), Yankees (2005-2008), Indians (2009) and Twins (2009-2012). He did not pitch in 2013. For his MLB career he was 108-107, 4.39 ERA, 1091 K, 1.34 WHIP in 1788.2 IP over 302 games. He was originally drafted by the Red Sox in the 13th round in 1994. Pavano was 38 at the time of his retirement.
