Jeff Suppan retires
Jeff Suppan announced his retirement from playing baseball in January 2014. The RHP had 17 seasons MLB experience pitching with the Red Sox (1995-1997, 2003), Diamondbacks (1998), Royals (1998-2002), Pirates (2003), Cardinals (2004-2006, 2010), Brewers (2007-2010) and Padres (2012). He did not pitch in 2013. For his MLB career he was 140-146, 4.70 ERA, 1390 K, 1.46 WHIP in 2542.2 IP over 448 games. He was originally drafted by the Red Sox in the second round in 1993, Suppan was 39 when he retired on his birthday on January 2nd.
