Ichiro Suzuki reached 3000 hit milestone
Ichiro Suzuki of the Miami Marlins reached the 3000 hit milestone in a 10-7 victory over the Colorado Rockies on August 7, 2016. He hit a triple in the seventh inning in his fourth at bat of the day. The outfielder became the 30th player in MLB history to reach the 3000 hit mark and joined Paul Molitor as the only two to accomplish the feat with a triple. This season he is hitting .317/.390/.380 with 0 HR, 12 RBI, 31 R, 9 SB in 95 games. Over 16 MLB seasons with the Marlins, Yankees and Mariners he has hit .314/.357/.405 with 113 HR, 750 RBI, 1379 R, 507 SB in 2452 games. He had 2533 hits with the Mariners over 12 seasons, 311 hits with the Yankees in 3 seasons and 156 hits with the Marlins over two. Prior to signing with the Mariners as a free agent in 2000 he played nine seasson with the Orix Blue Wave in Japan. Suzuki will be 43 on October 22.
