Francisco Rodriguez was traded by the Milwaukee Brewers to the Detroit Tigers on November 18, 2015. The Brewers in exchange received Javier Betancourt and a PTBNL.
RHP Rodriguez was 1-3, 2.21 ERA, 62 K, 0.86 WHIP, .189 BAA, 38 SV in 57.0 IP over 60 games with the Brewers in 2015. Over 14 MLB seasons with the Brewers, Orioles, Mets and Angels he was 47-44, 2.69 ERA, 1067 K, 1.14 WHIP, .204 BAA, 386 SV in 892.1 IP over 859 games. He originally signed with the Angels in 1998 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Rodriguez will be 34 on January 7th.
Betancourt is a 2B\SS who played at Class A Advanced Lakeland in 2015. He hit .263/.304/.336 with 3 HR, 48 RBI, 45 R, 4 SB in 122 games. He originally signed with the Tigers in 2011 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Betancourt turned 20 on May 8th.
