Marcell Ozuna and Giancarlo Stanton of the Miami Marlins were selected the National League Players of the Week for the span of September 18, 2017 through September 24, 2017.
For the week Ozuna hit 10 for 20, .500/.615/1.000 with 1 2B, 3 HR, 7 RBI, 6 R, 0 SB and 6 BB. He had also earned the award week 19 and week 21. This season the outfielder is hitting 181 for 588, .308/.374/.548 with 36 HR, 118 RBI, 88 R, 1 SB in 153 games. Over five MLB seasons with the Marlins he has hit .275/.329/.456 with 95 HR, 355 RBI, 313 R, 11 SB in 647 games. He originally signed with the Marlins in 2008 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Ozuna will be 27 on November 12.
For the week Stanton hit 8 for 23, .348/.484/.783 with 1 2B, 3 HR, 13 RBI, 6 R, 0 SB and 7 BB. He had also earned the award week 19 and week 21. This season the outfielder is hitting 159 for 567, .280/.378/.635 with 57 HR, 126 RBI, 118 R, 2 SB in 152 games. Over eight MLB seasons with the Marlins he has hit .268/.360/.554 with 265 HR, 666 RBI, 571 R, 36 SB in 979 games. He was originally drafted by the Marlins in the second round in 2007. Stanton will be 28 on November 8th.
