Leonys Martin traded to Cubs

Leonys Martin was traded by the Seattle Mariners to the Chicago Cubs on August 31, 2017 along with cash for a PTBNL and cash. The outfielder had split 2017 between Triple Tacoma and the Mariners. He hit 110 for 360, .306/.346/.492 with 11 HR, 39 RBI, 63 R, 25 SB in 88 games at Tacoma and 20 for 115, .174/.221/.287 with 3 HR, 8 RBI, 12 R, 6 SB in 34 games with the Mariners. Over seven MLB seasons with the Mariners and Rangers he hit .248/.300/.361 with 38 HR, 175 RBI, 252 R, 114 SB in 606 games. He originally signed with the Rangers in 2011 as an amateur free agent out of Cuba and was traded to the Mariners in 2015. Martin turned 29 on March 6th.
