J.D. Martinez hit 4 HR vs Dodgers 090417
J.D. Martinez of the Arizona Diamondbacks hit four home runs in a 13-0 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on September 4, 2017. For the game he was 4 for 5 with 4 HR, 6 RBI and 4 R while hitting fourth and playing right field. He started with a 2-run blast in the fourth inning, added solo shots in the seventh and eighth and finished with another 2-run blast in the ninth. He became the 18th player in MLB history to accomplish the feat. This season has hit 38 for 149, .255/.333/.678 with 18 HR, 40 RBI, 29 R, 1 SB in 41 games with the Diamondbacks after being traded by the Tigers on July 18. Over seven MLB seasons with the Diamondbacks, Tigers and Astros he has hit .282/.340/.504 with 141 HR, 451 RBI, 373 R, 15 SB in 751 games. He was originally drafted by the Astros in the 20th round in 2009. Martinez turned 30 on August 21.
