JD Martinez NL Player of Week 091117 to 091717
J.D. Martinez of the Arizona Diamondbacks was selected the National League Player of the Week for the span of September 11, 2017 through September 17, 2017. For the week he hit 10 for 23, .435/.480/.957 with 3 2B, 3 HR, 6 RBI, 8 R, 1 SB and 2 BB. He had also earned the award last week and the American League award week 7 and week 15 becoming the first player to earn four in one year. This season the outfielder is hitting 55 for 190, .289/.358/.732 with 24 HR, 51 RBI, 40 R, 2 SB in 51 games with the Diamondbacks after being traded by the Tigers on July 18. Over seven MLB seasons with the Diamondbacks, Tigers and Astros he has hit .284/.342/.510 with 147 HR, 462 RBI, 384 R, 16 SB in 761 games. He was originally drafted by the Astros in the 20th round in 2009. Martinez turned 30 on August 21.
