Tommy Hunter traded to Cubs

Tommy Hunter was traded by the Baltimore Orioles to the Chicago Cubs on July 31, 2015. The Orioles in exchange received Junior Lake. 

RHP Hunter was 2-2, 3.63 ERA, 32 K, 1.16 WHIP, .250 BAA in 44.2 IP over 39 games with the Orioles in 2015. Over eight MLB seasons with the Orioles and Rangers he was 44-33, 4.28 ERA, 408 K, 1.27 WHIP, .268 BAA, 15 SV in 661.0 IP over 265 games with 75 GS. He was originally drafted by the Rangers with the 54th pick of the first round in 2007. Hunter turned 29 on July 3rd. 

Lake is an outfielder who had split 2015 between Triple A Iowa and the Cubs. He hit .315/.404/.472 with 7 HR, 31 RBI, 37 R, 9 SB in 58 games at Iowa and .224/.274/.345 with 1 HR, 5 RBI, 2 R, 4 SB in 21 games with the Cubs. Over three MLB seasons with the Cubs he hit .241/.283/.380 with 16 HR, 46 RBI, 58 R, 15 SB in 193 games. He originally signed with the Cubs in 2007 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Lake turned 25 on March 27.
