Zach Miner traded to Tigers
Zach Miner was traded by the Kansas City Royals to the Detroit Tigers on April 20, 2012 in exchange for cash. Miner split 2011 between Double A and Triple A in the Royals organization. The RHP was 1-6 with a 7.16 ERA, 24 K, 1.66 WHIP in 44.0 IP over 11 games at Double A and was 2-1 with a 1.59 ERA, 20 K, 1.15 WHIP in 22.2 IP over 12 games at Triple A. He was originally drafted by the Braves in the fourth round in 2000. He was traded to the Tigers in July 2005 and pitched with the Tigers 2006 tp 2009. For his career Miner is 25-20 with a 4.24 ERA, 217 K, 1.46 WHIP in 357.0 IP over 157 games. He missed the 2010 season recovering from Tommy John surgery. Miner turned 30 on March 12.
