Mikie Mahtook traded to Tigers
Mikie Mahtook was traded by the Tampa Bay Rays to the Detroit Tigers on January 18, 2017 for a PTBNL. The outfielder split 2016 between Rookie Gulf Coast and Class A Advanced Charlotte while rehabbing, Triple A Durham and the Rays. He hit 1 for 3, .333/.500/.333 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 0 R, 0 SB in 1 game at Gulf Coast, 4 for 10, .400/.455/.400 with 0 HR, 0 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 3 games at Charlotte, .295/.351/.619 with 1 HR, 7 RBI, 16 R, 5 SB in 27 games at Durham and .195/.231/.292 with 3 HR, 11 RBI, 16 R, 0 SB in 65 games with the Rays. Over two MLB seasons with the Rays he hit .231/.275/.410 with 12 HR, 30 RBI, 38 R, 4 SB in 106 games. He was originally drafted by the Rays with the 31st pick of the first round in 2011. Mahtook turned 27 on November 30.
