This is the 10th segment of 2014 as I continue to follow Bubba Starling and Fred Ford as they make their way up the minor league ranks of the Kansas City Royals. Starling starts off 2014 at Class A Advanced Wilmington as the Red Rocks were 33-35 in the first half and are 1-2 in the second half. Ford is repeating time at Class A Lexington as the Legends finished the first half 29-41 and are 1-2 in the second half.
Bubba bounced out of the break strong as he has had three consecutive multi hit games going 7 for 14 with 2 doubles, a triple, 0 HR, 3 RBI, 4 R 0 SB in 3 games. For the season he is now hitting .202/.288/.318 with 3 HR, 33 RBI, 38 R, 9 SB in 68 games.
Fred continues the spiral he was in pre-break as he was 2 for 10 with 1 double, 0 HR, 0 RBI, 0 R, 0 SB in 3 games. For the season he is hitting .219/.316/.388 with 7 HR, 34 RBI, 30 R, 7 SB in 64 games.
