This is the eighth segment of 2014 as I continue to follow Bubba Starling and Fred Ford as they make their way up the minor league ranks of the Kansas City Royals. Starling starts off 2014 at Class A Advanced Wilmington as the Red Rocks are 27-27. Ford is repeating time at Class A Lexington as the Legends are 24-31.
Bubba had his hitting streak halted at 15 games and has not had a multi hit game in over a week as he was 4 for 24 with a double, 0 HR, 2 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 6 games. For the season he is hitting .194/.293/.298 with 2 HR, 22 RBI, 27 R, 9 SB in 51 games.
Fred broke out of his slump with three multi hit games as he was 8 for 24 with 3 doubles, a triple, 1 HR, 4 RBI, 5 R, 0 SB in 6 games. For the season he is hitting .217/.316/.398 with 6 HR, 28 RBI, 25 R, 4 SB in 49 games.
