Mets looking at Giancarlo Stanton
There are reports that the New York Mets are looking at Giancarlo Stanton of the Marlins and Carlos Gonzalez of the Rockies. While I still believe that the Royals should step up and go after Stanton it would be ideal for both the Mets and Stanton if that deal gets made. Stanton is basically the lone talent left on the island and his poor early performance may be a result. The Marlins have no one to protect Stanton in the line up and he may be pressing too much trying to get it done on his own. Going to the Mets he could have fellow All Star David Wright hitting after him. That would greatly improve the pitches that Stanton is seeing. While Citi Field is a little less hitter friendly than Marlins Park Stanton is capable of putting it out any where. It is only a matter of time before the Marlins unload Stanton and this appears to be a good option.
