Kevin Slowey traded to Indians

Kevin Slowey was traded by the Colorado Rockies to the Cleveland Indians on January 20, 2012. In exchange the Rockies receive Zach Putnam.

RHP Slowey had been traded to the Rockies by the Twins on December 6, 2011 after five seasons with Twins. In 2011 he was 0-8 with a 6.67 ERA, 34 strikeouts and 1.40 WHIP in 59.1 innings over 14 games. For his career he is 39-29 with a 4.66 ERA, 395 strikeouts and 1.29 WHIP in 532.2 innings over 100 games. He was originally drafted by the Twins in the second round in 2005.


RHP Putnam split 2011 between Triple A and the Indians. He was 6-3 with a 3.65 ERA, 68 strikeouts, 1.22 WHIP and nine saves in 69 innings over 44 games at Triple A and was 1-1 with a 6.14 ERA, nine strikeouts and 1.36 WHIP in 7.1 innings over eight games with the Indians. He was originally drafted by the Indians in the fifth round in 2008.
