Darin Ruf first MLB HR

Darin Ruf of the Philadelpha Phillies had a game of several firsts on September 25. He had his first MLB start, had his first hit, which was also his first home run, scored his first run and had his first multi hit game. In the 6-3 victory over the Washington Nationals he was 2 for 3 with a home run, RBI and run while playing left field. He played 2012 at Double A Reading where he hit .317/.408/.620 with 38 HR, 104 RBI, 93 R, 2 SB in 139 games. He was the Eastern League MVP and also won the Joe Bauman Home Run Award for hitting the most home runs in the minors this season. He was originally drafted by the Phillies in the 20th round in 2009. Ruf turned 26 on July 28.
