Jayson Aquino was traded by the Colorado Rockies to the Toronto Blue Jays on February 4, 2015. In exchange the Rockies received Tyler Ybarra.
LHP Aquino split 2014 between Class A Advanced Modesto and Double A Tulsa. He was 5-10, 5.40 ERA, 74 K, 1.51 WHIP, .305 BAA in 95.0 IP over 16 games at Modesto and 0-0, 3.00 ERA, 9 K, 1.42 WHIP, .205 BAA in 12.0 IP over 2 games at Tulsa. He originally signed with the Rockies in 2009 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Aquino turned 22 on November 22.
LHP Ybarra pitched in 2014 at Double A New Hampshire where he was 4-4, 4.42 ERA, 43 K, 1.36 WHIP, .227 BAA in 53.0 IP over 38 games. He was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the 43rd round in 2008. Ybarra turned 25 on December 11.
