Kevin Jepsen traded to Twins

Kevin Jepsen was traded by the Tampa Bay Rays to the Minnesota Twins on July 31, 2015. The Rays in exchange received Chih-Wei Hu and Alexis Tapia. 

RHP Jepsen was 2-5, 2.81 ERA, 34 K, 1.30 WHIP, .227 BAA, 5 SV in 41.2 IP over 46 games with the Rays in 2015. Over eight MLB seasons with the Raya anf Angels he was 15-23, 3.80 ERA, 305 K, 1.35 WHIP, .252 BAA, 10 SV in 322.1 IP over 361 games. He was originally drafted by the Angels in the second round in 2002. Jepsen turned 31 on July 26.

RHP Hu had split 2015 between Class A Advanced Fort Myers and Triple A Rochester. He was 5-3, 2.44 ERA, 73 K, 1.16 WHIP, .249 BAA in 84.2 IP over 15 games at Fort Myers and 1-1, 1.50 ERA, 6 K, 1.00 WHIP, .105 BAA in 6.0 IP in 1 game at Rochester. He originally signed with the Twins in 2012 as an amateur free agent out of Taiwan. Hu turned 21 on November 4th.

RHP Tapia had split 2015 between Rookie Elizabethton and Fort Myers. He was 1-2, 3.82 ERA, 33 K, 1.33 WHIP, .280 BAA in 33.0 IP over 6 games at Elizabethton and 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 K, 1.00 WHIP, .286 BAA in 2.0 IP over 2 games at Fort Myers. He originally signed with the Twins  in 2012 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Tapia will be 20 on August 10.
