Zac Rosscup traded to Rockies

Zac Rosscup was traded by the Chicago Cubs to the Colorado Rockies on June 26, 2017. The Cubs in exchange received Matt Carasiti.

LHP Rosscup had split 2017 between Triple A Iowa and the Cubs. He was 2-2, 2.60 ERA, 39 K, 1.05 WHIP, .208 BAA, 1 SV in 27.2 IP over 17 games with 1 GS at Iowa and 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 0 K, 0.00 WHIP, .000 BAA in 0.2 IP in 1 game with the Cubs. Over four MLB seasons with the Cubs he was 3-1, 5.32 ERA, 57 K, 1.58 WHIP, .236 BAA in 47.1 IP over 62 games. He was originally drafted by the Rays in the 28th round in 2009 and traded to the Cubs in 2011. Rosscup turned 29 on June 9th.

RHP Carasiti was 1-1, 2.37 ERA, 43 K, 1.45 WHIP, .263 BAA, 13 SV in 30.1 IP over 27 games at Triple A Albuquerque in 2017. While with the Rockies in 2016 he was 1-0, 9.19 ERA, 17 K, 2.30 WHIP, .373 BAA in 15.2 IP over 19 games. He was originally drafted by the Rockies in the sixth round in 2012. Carasiti will be 26 on July 23.
