Trevor Plouffe traded to Rays
Trevor Plouffe was traded by the Oakland Athletics to the Tampa Bay Rays on June 17, 2017 for a PTBNL or cash. The third baseman hit 39 for 182, .214/.276/.357 with 7 HR, 14 RBI, 22 R, 1 SB in 58 games with the Athletics in 2017. Over eight MLB seasons with the Rays, Athletics and Twins he has hit .245/.306/.416 with 104 HR, 372 RBI, 356 R, 12 SB in 784 games. He was originally drafted by the Twins with the 20th pick of the first round in 2004. Plouffe turned 31 on June 15.
