Yohander Mendez of the Frisco RoughRiders and Collin Wiles of the Frisco RoughRiders were selected the Texas League Co-Pitchers of the Week for the span of May 29, 2017 through June 4, 2017. The rare duo selection came after both pitched a shutout against Arkansas in their respective ends of the double header on June 6, 2017.
For the week Mendez was 1-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 GS, 1 SHO, 7.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 HR, 1 HBP, 1 BB and 5 K. The win was in a 7-0 victory over Arkansas. This season the LHP is 3-3, 3.52 ERA, 53 K, 1.06 WHIP, .196 BAA in 69.0 IP over 11 GS. Frisco is the Double A team of the Texas Rangers. He originally signed with the Rangers in 2011 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Mendez turned 22 on January 17.

This season the RHP is 5-2, 3.15 ERA, 49 K, 1.23 WHIP, .277 BAA in 65.2 IP over 12 games with 11 GS. He was originally drafted by the Rangers with the 53rd pick in the supplemental first round in 2012. Wiles turned 23 on May 30.
