Michael Bourn traded to Orioles

Michael Bourn was traded by the Arizona Diamondbacks to the Baltimore Orioles on August 31, 2016. The Diamondbacks in exchange received Jason Heinrich.

Bourn is an outfielder who had split 2016 between Class A Advanced Dunedin of the Blue Jays and Double A Mobile and the Diamondbacks. He hit 9 for 35, .257/.366/.371 with 0 HR, 5 RBI, 3 R, 1 SB in 9 games at Dunedin, 6 for 22, .273/.261/.318 with 0 HR, 1 RBI, 1 R, 1 SB in 5 games at Mobile and .261/.307/.362 with 3 HR, 30 RBI, 43 R, 13 SB in 89 games with the Diamondbacks. Over 11 MLB seasons with the Diamondbacks, Braves, Indians, Astros and Phillies he hit .266/.329/.356 with 34 HR, 353 RBI, 673 R, 339 SB in 1337 games. He was originally drafted by the Phillies in the fourth round in 2003. Bourn turned 33 on December 27.

Heinrich is an outfielder who hit .231/.301/.347 with 3 HR, 13 RBI, 16 R, 1 SB in 44 games at Short Season A Aberdeen. He was originally drafted by the Orioles in the fifth round in 2015. Heinrich turned 20 on June 7th.
