Josh Fuentes of the Modesto Nuts was selected the California League Player of the Week for the span of August 29, 2016 through September 5, 2016. For the week he hit 14 for 32, .438/.455/.844 with 3 2B, 2 3B, 2 HR, 10 RBI, 8 R, 1 SB and 1 BB in 7 games. He had also earned the award in the South Atlantic League for the week of  May 16. This season the third baseman is hitting .278/.342/.450 with 9 HR, 44 RBI, 44 R, 1 SB in 77 games at Modesto and .398/.442/.677 with 4 HR, 20 RBI, 18 R, 2 SB in 28 games at Class A Advanced Asheville. Modesto is the Class A Advanced team of the Colorado Rockies. He originally signed with the Rockies as an undrafted free agent in 2014. Fuentes turned 23 on February 19.
