Freddie Freeman of the Atlanta Braves was selected the National League Player of the Week for the span of August 29, 2016 through September 4, 2016. For the week he hit 8 for 20, .400/.600/.850 with 3 2B, 2 HR, 7 RBI, 7 R, 0 SB and 10 BB. He had also earned the award for the week of June 13. This season the first baseman has hit .295/.396/.564 with 29 HR, 72 RBI, 85 R, 4 SB in 136 games. Over seven MLB seasons with the Braves he has hit .286/.371/.481 with 133 HR, 496 RBI, 490 R, 17 SB in 887 games. He was originally drafted by the Braves in the second round in 2007. Freeman will be 27 on September 12.
