Fernando Salas traded to Mets

Fernando Salas was traded by the Los Angeles Angels to the New York Mets on August 31, 2016. The Angels in exchange received Erik Manoah.

RHP Salas was 3-6, 4.47 ERA, 45 K, 1.26 WHIP, .248 BAA, 6 SV in 56.1 IP over 58 games with the Angels in 2016. Over seven MLB season with the Mets, Angels and Cardinals he is 19-21, 3.69 ERA, 369 K, 1.18 WHIP, .234 BAA, 30 SV in 373.0 IP over 376 games. He originally signed with the Cardinals in 2007 after pitching in the Mexican League. Salas turned 31 on May 30.

RHP Manoah was 5-5, 5.37 ERA, 63 K, 1.58 WHIP, .291 BAA in 62.0 IP over 13 games at Short Season A Brooklyn. He was originally drafted by the Mets in the 13th round in 2014. Manoah turned 20 on December 22.
