Ryan Spilborghs retires
Ryan Spilborghs announced his retirement from playing baseball in February 2014. The outfielder had seven seasons MLB experience playing with the Rockies (2005-2011). He played in 2013 for the Saitama Seibu Lions in Japan and hit .234/.317/.308 with 3 HR, 25 RBI, 20 R, 1 SB in 70 games. For his MLB career he hit .272/.345/.423 with 42 HR, 218 RBI, 222 R, 31 SB in 619 games. He was originally drafted by the Rockies in the seventh round in 2002. Spilborghs was 34 at the time of his retirement.
