Suk-min Yoon Headed to MLB
South Korean RHP Suk-min Yoon has drawn interest from MLB teams including the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins and likely will sign for the 2014 season. He returned to a reliever role in 2013 due to a shoulder injury and was 3-6, 4.00 ERA, 76 K, 1.36 WHIP, 7 SV in 87.67 IP over 30 games with the Kia Tigers. He is only two seasons removed from being the MVP of the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) in 2011 when he captured the pitching Triple Crown leading the league in wins, ERA and strikeouts. In 2011 he was 17-5, 2.45 ERA, 178 K, 1.05 WHIP, 1 SV in 172.1 IP over 27 games. He broke into the KBO as a reliever and in 2006 as the Tigers closer was 5-6, 2.28 ERA, 75 K, 1.14 WHIP in 94.2 IP over 63 games. He made the transition to starter the following season. He also pitched for the South Korea team that won gold at the 2008 Summer Olympics in China. Yoon will be 28 on July 24.

Lance Berkman retires
Lance Berkman announced his retirement from playing baseball in January 2014. The OF\1B had 15 seasons MLB experience playing with the Astros (1999-2010), Yankees (2010), Cardinals (2011-2012) and Rangers (2013). In 2013 he hit .242/.340/.359 with 6 HR, 34 RBI, 27 R, 0 SB in 73 games with the Rangers. For his MLB career he hit .293/.406/.537 with 366 HR, 1234 RBI, 1146 R, 86 SB in 1879 games. He was originally drafted by the Astros with the 16th pick of the first round in 1997. Berkman was 37 at the time of his retirement.
Carlos Peguero traded to Royals
Carlos Peguero was traded by the Seattle Mariners to the Kansas City Royals on January 29, 2014 in exchange for a player to be named later or cash. The outfielder has three seasons of limited MLB experience with the Mariners. He split 2013 between Triple A Tacoma and the Mariners. He hit .260/.321/.460 with 19 HR, 83 RBI, 60 R, 11 SB in 118 games at Tacoma and hit .333/.429/.833 with 1 HR, 1 RBI, 1 R, 1 SB in 2 games with the Mariners. For his MLB career he has hit .195/.242/.380 with 9 HR, 27 RBI, 17 R, 1 SB in 65 games. He originally signed with the Mariners in 2005 as an amateur free agent out of Dominican Republic. Luke Jackson was the Texas Rangers Minor League Pitcher of the Year in 2013. The RHP split 2013 between Class A Advanced Myrtle Beach and Double A Frisco.
