Ramon Hernandez traded to Dodgers

Ramon Hernandez was traded by the Colorado Rockies to the Los Angeles Dodgers on April 6, 2013. In exchange the Rockies received Aaron Harang.

Hernandez is a catcher with 14 seasons MLB experience playing with the Rockies, Reds, Orioles, Padres and Athletics. In 2012 he hit .217/.247/.353 with 5 HR, 28 RBI, 16 R, 0 SB in 52 games with the Rockies. For his MLB career he has hit .264/.327/.417 with 166 HR, 751 RBI, 576 R, 8 SB in 1509 games. He originally signed with the Athletics as an amateur free agent in 1994 out of Venezuela. Hernandez will be 37 on May 20.

RHP Harang has 11 seasons MLB experience pitching with the Dodgers, Padres, Reds and Athletics. In 2012 he was 10-10, 3.61 ERA, 131 K, 1.40 WHIP in 179.2 IP over 31 games with the Dodgers. For his MLB career he is 105-104, 4.19 ERA, 1460 K, 1.35 WHIP in 1802.0 IP over 299 games. He was originally drafted by the Rangers in the sixth round in 1999. Harang will be 35 on May 9th.
