Last season we briefly entertained the thought along with Matt Kemp of the Dodgers that he could make a legitimate run at 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season. Then two stints on the DL derailed his efforts and the dream was lost. Or was it?
It's the beginning of a new season and who's to say there isn't a player capable of reaching that historic mark. I'm going to say that Kemp will make another run at it and will throw Mike Trout of the Angels and Carlos Gonzalez of the Rockies into the mix too. All three players have the combination of speed and power to make it possible under the right circumstances.
Since the season is just out of the gates I'll start the projections next week with more games under their belts. Keeping my fingers crossed that we might see some history being made.
