Jesus Sucre traded to Rays
Jesus Sucre was traded by the Seattle Mariners to the Tampa Bay Rays on February 8, 2017 for a PTBNL or cash. The catcher split 2016 between Rookie Arizona and Triple A Tacoma while rehabbing and with the Mariners. He hit 4 for 10, .400/.400/.400 with 0 HR, 3 RBI, 1 R, 0 SB in 4 games at Arizona, .273/.301/.333 with 0 HR, 11 RBI, 7 R, 0 SB in 29 games at Tacoma and 12 for 25, .480/.552/.680 with 1 HR, 5 RBI, 4 R, 0 SB in 9 games with the Mariners. Over four MLB seasons with the Mariners he hit .209/.246/.276 with 2 HR, 20 RBI, 18 R, 0 SB in 88 games. His MLB caught stealing rate is 35%. He originally signed with the Braves in 2005 as an amateur free agent out of Venezuela. Sucre will be 29 on April 30.
