Enny Romero traded to Nationals

Enny Romero was traded by the Tampa Bay Rays to the Washington Nationals on February 7, 2017. The Rays in exchange received Jeffrey Rosa.

LHP Romero split 2016 between Class A Advanced Charlotte while rehabbing and the Rays. He was 0-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 K, 0.00 WHIP, .000 BAA in 1.0 IP in 1 game at Charlotte and 2-0, 5.91 ERA, 50 K, 1.53 WHIP, .244 BAA, 1 SV in 45.2 IP over 52 games with the Rays. Over two MLB seasons with the Rays he was 2-2, 5.27 ERA, 81 K, 1.58 WHIP, .264 BAA, 1 SV in 80.1 IP over 76 games with 1 GS. He originally signed with the Rays in 2008 as an amateur free agent out of the Dominican Republic. Romero turned 26 on January 24.

RHP Rosa was 0-4, 4.91 ERA, 34 K, 1.44 WHIP, .245 BAA in 40.1 IP over 11 GS at Rookie Gulf Coast in 2016. He originally signed a minor league contract with the Nationals in 2015. Rosa will be 22 on June 5th.
