J.D. Martinez hits 3 HR vs Yankees 062115

J.D. Martinez of the Detroit Tigers hit three home runs in a 12-4 victory against the New York Yankees on June 21, 2015. For the game he was 3 for 5 with 3 HR, 6 RBI and 3 R while batting sixth and playing right field. He started with a 2-run home run in the first inning, added a solo shot in the fifth and finished with a 3-run blast in the sixth, This season the outfielder is hitting .275/.333/.516 with 16 HR, 41 RBI, 39 R, 2 SB in 68 games. Over five MLB seasons with the Tigers and Astros he has hit .273/.322/.454 with 63 HR, 243 RBI, 183 R, 10 SB in 443 games. Just last season he hit three home runs in a minor league before his call up to the Tigers. He was originally drafted by the Astros in the 20th round in 2009. Martinez will be 28 on August 21.
