Alex Rodriguez 3000th hit

Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees had the 3000th hit of his MLB career in a 7-2 win over the Detroit Tigers on June 19, 2015. The hit was a solo home run off Justin Verlander in the first inning with two outs. For the game he was 1 for 4 with the HR, 1 RBI, 1 R while batting third and being the DH. This season the third baseman has hit .277/.382/.514 with 13 HR, 35 RBI, 38 R, 1 SB in 63 games. Over 21 MLB seasons with the Yankees, Rangers and Mariners he has hit .299/.384/.557 with 667 HR, 2004 RBI, 1957 R, 323 SB in 2631 games. His hit breakdown has been 1465 in 11 seasons with the Yankees, 569 over three seasons with the Rangers and 627 over seven seasons with the Mariners. He was originally drafted by the Mariners with the first over all pick in 1993. Rodriguez will be 40 on July 27.
