Chris Wallace traded to Indians

Chris Wallace was traded by the Houston Astros to the Cleveland Indians on April 15, 2013. In exchange the Astros received Eric Berger.

Wallace is a catcher who was with Triple A Oklahoma City before the trade. He was hitless in over 3 at bats in one game. He split 2012 between Double A Corpus Christi and Oklahoma City. He hit .251/.330/.397 with 5 HR, 29 RBI, 26 R, 3 SB in 63 games at Corpus Christi and hit .270/.357/.351 with 0 HR, 7 RBI, 4 R, 0 SB in 15 games at Oklahoma City. He was originally drafted by the Astros in the 16th round in 2010. Wallace will be 25 on April 27.

LHP Berger was at Double A Akron before the trade where he was 0-0, 4.15 ERA, 2 K, 2.08 WHIP in 4.1 IP over 2 games. He split 2012 between Akron and Triple A Columbus. He was 0-3, 4.37 ERA, 21 K, 1.32 WHIP in 22.2 IP over 5 games at Akron and was 2-6, 5.50 ERA, 78 K, 1.37 WHIP in 88.1 IP over 26 games at Columbus. He was originally drafted by the Indians in the eighth round in 2008. Berger will be 27 on April 22.
