Bryan Anderson traded to Athletics

Bryan Anderson was traded by the Cincinnati Reds to the Oakland Athletics on August 24, 2014in exchange for cash. Prior to the trade the catcher split 2014 between Double A Pensacola and Triple A Louisville as he hit .343/.427/.643 with 5 HR, 19 RBI, 11 R, 0 SB in 21 games at Pensacola and .302/.380/.481 with 5 HR, 24 RBI, 20 R, 0 SB in 52 games at Louisville. After the trade he played at Triple A Sacramento and hit .381/.417/.619 with 0 HR, 4 RBI, 4 R, 0 SB in 5 games while also going hitless in one at bat with the Athletics. That gave him his fourth season of limited MLB experience with the Athletics, White Sox and Cardinals as he has hit .206/.261/.270 with 0 HR, 6 RBI, 4 R, 1 SB in 36 games. He was originally drafted by the Cardinals in the fourth round in 2005. Anderson turned 28 on December 16.
